About Green Events…

Published since January 1991, Green Events has become the premier alternative information resource in the Capital for people to discover the ways and means to develop a more conscious, healthy and sustainable society.

By providing holistic and ethically minded people with a comprehensive, one-stop, noticeboard of events, activities, products and services, Green Events supports individuals to lead ethical and engaged lives. We now have a loyal following of readers who find Green Events indispensable as a guide to what is available.

Green Events strongest aspect is that of ‘Community’. It’s engaged readership value it as a way to connect with like-minded people and communal activities that give them a feeling of being part of the solution rather than part of the problem.

Rather than just bemoaning the current dire ecological and social problems that confront us, Green Events constantly promotes positive alternatives which seek to restore a natural balance to the human relationship with nature.

Green Events is the only publication in London of this kind, and has been labelled London’s Ethical ‘Time Out’. As a free publication advertising revenue is what allows us to provide a valuable free listings service to the public. Our advertisers, as well as getting the best possible targeted audience for their activity, product or service, help support us in this endeavour, and we are dedicated to maximising their consumer response.

Published ten times a year with a print run of 10,000 to 12,000 copies - 90% distributed in the London area - Green Events has carried to their satisfaction publicity for many of the major environmental, human rights and animal rights organisations, as well as a full spectrum of the Holistic, Human Potential and Green businesses and services. We are a founding member of INK, the Independent News Collective – the trade association of the UK independent press, and Green Events’ editor Peter McCaig is on the INK executive committe. The magazine is distributed to virtually all the relevant outlets in London and the surrounding area, but also reaches as far afield as Scotland and Cornwall. Our outlets include organic supermarkets, health food shops, fair trade shops, complementary health clinics and colleges, as well as bookshops. For a full list of outlets click here.

Feedback from our Advertisers –

“Green Events really works! The majority of people filling in our feedback forms say they heard of the festival through Green Events.” Janet Spence Organiser, Festival of Life July 2007.

“I am writing to say thank you for being the media sponsor of the Camden Green Fair & Bikefest. This was by far the biggest event we put on in Camden and we are in no doubt that your support – both in terms of editorial and advertising space – played a major role in promoting the event. Apart from helping us attract more visitors, our feature on BBC London Radio and many of the groups and organisations that exhibited at the Fair were a direct result of reading about the event in Green Events. Thank you for your support and we look forward to working with you in the future.” Julian Jacobs Groundwork Camden & Islington July 2003.

“Although it has been quite a struggle to get the Centre established, we are very grateful to Green Events for your listings service. About half our clients say they first saw about us in your magazine. Our philosophy of open access and a relaxed atmosphere seems to go down well with the younger audience who hear about us through Green Events. Typically they would be a person in the 20’s or early 30’s suffering from stress or ME.” Andrew Sills Chair – London Healing Centre November 2003.
